Two years, five months

Two Years, Four Months...

...and he continues to be more fabulous every day. He's so talkative and opinionated. His favorite things these days are his people (many, many action figures), books, and playing outside now that it's warmer. He seems to enjoy the new house, running laps through the downstairs.

Buddy in the Hospital

Alec was very miserable over the weekend and on Monday he was admitted to the hospital for a bad virus. It was scary and exhausting for everyone. However, I'm grateful it was easily addressed and not something serious, like appendicitis as was first thought. And right now he's a new man and back to his sassy self.

December

December has been very eventful, with him being sick, then Christmas.

Here he is being watched closely by Elmo. He's holding some people who came with various manly vehicles. He's quite taken with his people, referring to them as "his people," and monitoring their wherabouts with vigilance.

With Daddy on Christmas day. He snuggled up tight like the monkey he is, and couldn't get enough of his daddy.


Christmas Day! You'll note John assembling the parking garage in the background. Buddy wasn't sure what to make of this motorized car, and hasn't yet fully warmed up to it. The one time he drove it, it was funny - he drove it forward, but only looked back.


He even plays guitar in the bathroom. Better acoustics.

From December

Papa gave Buddy his very own "dakar." He can even play it with his feet.

His hair is now long enough to meaningfully brush. It really holds a style, too. After a bath, if you brush it straight up, it stays that way.


He enjoys his helicopter and the associated people. And this is the warning look that he's not into sharing them.

Drive by football. He throws the football while driving his tricycle, muttering, "Hut! Hut!"

He has bath letters which stick to the wall when wet. Happy discovery: they also stick to his head and belly.


With Daddy at Thanksgiving. He was THRILLED to see John at the airport! Alec ran right through security to him.

First snow. He loved it! His snow pants made him waddle, and lay immobile on the ground when he fell, but he had a blast!


He takes great pride in setting the table! And he's so good at it, carefully placing the silverware, placemats and napkins.

Happy Two Years Old!!

Here he is on his birthday. We can hardly believe it's been two years since he arrived at 8:55pm one cold Saturday night. It's a strange combination of "can't believe it's gone by so quickly" and "feels like forever..." (Maybe that's just because he's sick right now?) It's impossible to imagine life before him or without him, and I'm grateful every single day that we get to care for him. He's exquisite.
